What is Grand Prix Legends (GPL)?

Grand Prix Legends (GPL) is one of the best and advanced race simulations for the PC. GPL simulates the Formula 1 Season of 1967, when the cars were still drifting on four wheels like rally cars, drivers like Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Jochen Rindt made the spectators hold their breath every time they roared by and the implemention of computers into Formula 1 was still years away.
Although GPL has been around since 1998, it’s still mindblowing in the area’s of driving experience and realism (Developer: Papyrus / Publisher: Sierra). In the retail release these 11 historical tracks are included: Kyalami, Mexico, Monaco, Monza, Mosport, Nürburgring Nordschleife, Rouen, Silverstone, Spa, Watkins Glen and Zandvoort.
Today 20 years after it’s initial release, GPL still has a big online community, which continues to release addons and updates which add to the enjoyment of the game. Thereare, for instance, over 600 (!) new tracks released for GPL, photorealistic 3D car updates,
original engine sounds taken from recordings of the real engines, an evergrowing number of Mods for other seasons (1955, 1965, 1966, 1967 F2, 1969, Can-Am 1966, Can-Am 1971, Sportscars 1967,…), as well as numerous programs to make it easier to enjoy GPL. Each and every update is available on the internet without money being charged!

Another highlight are online races with up to 20 riders using

iGOR (interactive GPL Online Racing)
-> for GPL Mods & original GPL 1967

WinVROC (Virtual Racers' Online Connection)
-> for original GPL 1967
